Outpatient Services
Clinical staff persons come from a variety of professional backgrounds-social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy. During a typical day, the clinicians meet with individuals, couples, children and parents, families, groups to address mental health functioning, stability and management. In an 8-hour day, 6-7 appointments are scheduled. Other days may include, communication with other persons/agencies involved with the primary client, training, supervision, consultation, and/or family meetings set up by other agencies (i.e. DHS, In-home agencies, day treatment agencies, Department of Corrections).
Occasionally, clinicians testify in court hearings or attend planning groups who are developing new programs. Persons are referred by a vast assortment of agencies and businesses-schools, substance abuse agencies, physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, employers, friends, family members and the individuals themselves, who are ready to become more mature in handling the challenges of daily living or life change adjustment.
